Paper 1 Reading Task
Here is some advice on how to deal with the first question of the English HSC Paper, the Reading task. Please refer to the actual examination paper (HSC 2004) which can be downloaded from http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/index.php
For this section of Paper One, it is essential that you are concise (remember the time!) and answer the question using evidence from the texts. Often students write far too much for the one and two mark questions and run out of time. It may surprise some of you how little you have to write to gain full marks for those questions. However, it is important that the questions worth three or five marks are more considered, lengthier responses.
