With the new HSC prescriptions list taking effect this year, this conference asks teachers to consider the role of texts in the English classroom. How can we ensure that what was good in the past remains so and the changes we make create educational improvement? How can we establish effective foundations in Stages 4 and 5 so students make the most of the possibilities in Stage 6?

Report on ETA Consultation of members on Extension 2 English

The ETA has submitted this report of teachers' experiences of and attitudes to the HSC Extension 2 English Course to the NSW Board of Studies. The report is the result of a survey conducted in March after members expressed concern that the 'risk management approach in relation to the corruption risks associated with its HSC Assessment Program' may include the Board of Studies' substantially altering Extension 2 as it is currently practised.
