Request to pilot Oxfam Food 4 Thought resource

Oxfam Australia is seeking Year 7-10 English classrooms to pilot Food 4 Thought, Oxfam’s new online, interactive resource.

Food 4 Thought, integrates the Australian Curriculum: English with active global citizenship. Oxfam believes that English is an important tool to encourage students to develop the critical capacities to analyse, contextualise, reflect on and respond to real-world issues and use language to effect positive social change.

Year 7-10 students will explore youth-generated blogs, celebrity video-diaries, campaign materials, animations and more as part of a range of persuasive and multi-modal texts that address social justice issues. Students will develop critical and digital literacy, communication, collaboration, and the ability to form ethical and informed positions on these social justice issues in a global context.
