Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of the designated focus area of ETA strategic plan
- Provide detailed report on progress, issues and directions to the Board on a regular basis.
Committee Manager Roles
- Proactive management of the focus area through identifying opportunities and issues in response to membership needs
- Work with executive and other managers to develop strategic directions for ETA
- Implement strategic directions for the focus area in consultation with Executive
- Ensure committee members understand ETA policies
- In consultation with the committee and the Executive define projects
- In consultation with Treasurer set budget
- Form work teams for projects and delegate responsibilities
- Develop work plans for the committee and made available to the executive
- Document discussions and decisions
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of projects
- Prepare annual report for the membership
Profile of Committee Manager*
In addition to qualities of committee members the manager should demonstrate
- Knowledge of ETA structure and processes
- Understanding of ETA mission and culture
- Understanding of the function of the focus area within the broader aims of ETA
- Experience and expertise in nominated focus area
- An ability to communicate with committee members and Executive in a timely way and in a variety of forms and media
- An ability and willingness to work collaboratively, harmoniously and productively with and coordinate the activities of the committee members
- An ability to manage projects
- An ability to form and maintain networks
- An ability to gather and disseminate information relating to the focus area
Time
- 1 hr in addition to committee time on average per week.
